Top 10 Worst Albums of 2025

These are my personal Top 10 Worst Albums of the Year.  The rankings of these records only reflect my personal enjoyment of each album.

10. PARTYNEXTDOOR – $ome $exy $ongs 4 U

Genre: R&B

The best song on this album is a Drake song that should’ve been the lead single to the next Drake album that should have already come out by now.  It seems to me that the OVO Sweatshop is in quite a rudderless state this year.

9. Tame Impala — Deadbeat

Genre: Indie

An honest miss from Kevin.  It feels like Tame Impala fell off at this point, but we also said the same thing about Vampire Weekend 5 years ago and they just dropped one of the best albums of last year.

8. Benson Boone — American Heart

Genre: Pop

Benson’s a cornball, but he seems like a very good sport and a nice dude.  I wish nothing ill of his career, but this album’s also ass.

7. Central Cee — Can't Rush Greatness (Mixed/Negative)

Genre: Hip Hop

His mixtapes were a lot better than this. Just pick your favorite bops and throw them into the playlist this round.

6. Ian - 2005

Genre: Rap

This is a boring tantrum.  Either get off your shoulders and rap like you gotta pay the bills, or make a country or punk album like MGK.

5. Dave Blunts — You Can't Say That

Genre: Trash

Please put the Cup Down, David.

4. Lil Wayne – Tha Carter VI

Genre: Hip Hop

Please put the Cup Down, Dwayne.

3. Morgan Wallen - I’m the Problem

Genre: Hip Hop

This album has a very strong Sundown Town energy that angers the ancestors. It robs from rap and calls itself country. The movie Sinners warns about music like this.

2. Young Thug – UY SCUTI

Genre: Hip Hop

This is the most unserious album I’ve heard this year from a person who has absolutely no time to be joking around with their career. He drops another album like this again and they’ll start calling him Old Thug. Don’t make them call you Old Thug, Young Thug.

1. Will Smith – Based on a True Story

Genre: Hip Hop

This album is hilariously embarrassing for everyone involved.  Salute to the Fresh Prince for trying to keep it Fresh and stay current, but someone should have stopped his stylist and kept him off of Lyrical Lemonade.  The beats on the album are some of the worst beats I’ve heard this year.  It’s like watching a man in his mid 50s  at the club with his tongue hanging out.  There’s no shame in making a jazz rap album about your chronic back pain in your 50s as a rapper, as long as you sound like you can keep up with the next generation.

Just My Opinion
